Plot

Set in 1920s London, the bloody muder of the glamorous Emily French takes place in a London townhouse. Having left her enormous fortune to young Leonard Vole, he becomes the prime suspect and is immediately arrested.

When the court date comes round, Leonard’s wife, Romaine, agrees to testify but instead of being in Leonard’s defense, she testifies as a witness for the prosecution. However, Romaine’s appearance in court is in fact part of a complex plan to prove his innocence.

Tickets for Witness for the Prosecution start at £15 but can be as expensive as £124.20. Showing in a Courtroom at London County Hall, the auditorium is divided into the Courtroom stalls, North Gallery, South Gallery, Central Gallery and Judge’s circle.

The best seats in the house are undoubtedly in the VIP Jury seat, right next to the Judge’s circle where you will be at the centre of the action. There are also more premium seats in the Court Room Stalls where viewing is excellent.

Cheap Tickets and Discounts

The most reasonable tickets can be found in the North Gallery and the South Gallery, where viewing is slightly restricted. However, you can still enjoy a fully immersive theatrical experience.

Group tickets

Groups of 8+ £42.50 on Band A and £32.50 on Band B and Band C Tue – Fri performances only. 

Groups of 20+ £35 on Band A and £25 on Band B and Band C Tue – Fri performances only.

Educational groups of 8+ with a maximum of 50 (students and teachers) can buy Band B, Band C and Band D tickets at £21.50 in the gallery seats for Tue – Friday performances.

Located in the heart of the British political and juridical district, London County Hall is situated on the South Bank of the River Thames, close to the London Eye and the House of Parliament. While you can take either public transport or drive, public transport it much easier. This is the full address of the theatre:

Tube: Waterloo or Westminster are the nearest tube stations and are within walking distance (Jubilee, Northern, Bakerloo, District, Circle). Follow exit signs to York Road and then walk a few minutes until you reach the County Hall which will be on your left.

Train: the closest mainline train station is Waterloo.

Bus: You can take the 12, 53, 76, 77, 148, 159, 211, 341, 381, 453, 507, RV1, C10, as well as the N109, N155, N381

 

Car: there are three car parks located in the South Bank Area which are within walking distance.  

Access

We recommend that any access visitors book their seats in the Courtroom stalls as there is no lift to the Galleries and you will have to climb 33 steps up from the Chamber. The backroom of the Stalls has step free access because there is a lift.

There is also step free access from the Jubilee Line at Waterloo station and the Circle and District lines from Westminster.
